Produced by Captain Beefheart himself, Lick My Decals Off, Baby was a further refining and exploration of the musical ideas posited on Trout Mask Replica. As such, the imaginative fervour of Trout Mask is toned down somewhat, but in its place is an increased self-assurance; the tone of Decals is also a bit darker, examining environmental issues in some songs rather than simply concentrating on surreal wordplay. Whatever the differences, the jagged, complex rhythms and guitar interplay continue to amaze

SIDE 1: Lick My Decals Off Baby / Doctor Dark / I Love You You Big Dummy / Peon / Bellerin' Plain / Woe-Is-uh-Me-Bop / Japan In A Dishpan
SIDE 2: Wanna Find A Woman That'll Hold My Big Toe Till I Have To Go / Petrified Forest / One Red Rose That I Mean / The Buggy Boogie Woogie / The Smithsonian Institute Blues (Or The Big Dig) / Space-Age Couple / The Clouds Are Full Of Wine (not Whiskey Or Rye) / Flash Gordon's Ape

LABELS: NEAR MINT
Factory-fresh labels with possibly one light spindle trace - the spindle hope is still tight
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces shine like new and have the appearance of a brand new record
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Superb barely (if ever played) copy with deep, rich sound and my play-check at volume found little to fault - an odd one-off tick here and there but I did not deep clean this copy as it looks so immaculate so these will no doubt disappear after a clean/few spins otherwise, flawless - best I've seen - no need to upgrade from this one
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT
Apart from some some rub to the surfaces (which always shows on this black cover) and a soft crease to the top corner, the sleeve is crisp and sharp
