I have for sale a very rare copy of Captain Beefheart - Dropout Boogie LP (1970) on 12" vinyl.
Unlike most of my vintage records for sale this is not the original pressing, but is in fact a re-issue of his first album 'Safe as Milk'. What makes this particular version rare and highly sought after however, is that the vinyl was mispressed, omitting the final song on each side ('Grown So Ugly' on Side A, and 'Call on Me' on Side B). The sleeve lists these two tracks as being present, but the label does not include them and they are not pressed onto the vinyl!
When the mistake was discovered it was quickly withdrawn from sale, repressed and reissued with the missing tracks replaced. The upshot is that there are VERY few copies out there, so for serious Captain Beefheart fans and collectors it's one of the most prized (and scarce) releases in the entire catalogue.
I can also state that both the sleeve and vinyl are in excellent condition, the vinyl especially having almost no signs of use whatsoever. If you've been waiting for this rare item to appear for sale, this is your chance to bag a stunning copy and be the envy of your fellow collectors! :)

Taken from Discogs;
This was intended to be a reissue of the 1969 Pye 623171 release, now pressed by Polydor in the "99" Budget series. The sleeve lists the 12 tracks, the vinyl only had 10 - with "I'm Glad" & "Grown So Ugly" missing. 
(The 10-track Marble Arch 'budget' master possibly used). It was quickly repressed, using same cat#. 

This album is actually Captain Beefheart And His Magic Band's 1st album "Safe As Milk", renamed for this 1970 issue. The album was originally released in 1967.

Condition:

Vinyl: Excellent condition with almost no signs of use at all. No damage or wear to spindle hole, record is perfectly flat (no warping). No obvious hairline marks or needle wear, amazing consider its age! It has lost none of its original lustre and still clings to the dust cover as you remove it. You won't see or hear another copy like this any time soon.
Label: Original black Buddah Records label. No fading, rubbing or smudging of the lettering at all, perfectly clear and well defined printing. There are some visible spider lines around spindle hole, but these are essentially the only signs of wear to the label. 
Cover: Fantastic condition, no fading, colours are bright and vibrant as the sleeve has been kept away from sunlight. The spine is perfectly intact with no splitting (see pictures). The four corners are sharp and square with pretty much no visible rubbing or scuffing around the perimeter. There are one or two very small and light creases but these are hardly noticeable, most sellers probably wouldn't even mention them. Happily, there is no evidence of 'laminate lift', which sadly affects many record covers of this age. Overall a stunning example that has defied the effects of time.
