Description
TITLE : VARIOUS ARTIST / A CHANCE ENCOUNTER - LP
LABEL / CAT # : RAMBERT RECORDS / BERT 291
COUNTRY / YEAR OF RELEASE : UK / 1982
DESCRIPTION : Little known UK PRIVATE PRESS (tiny local label) compilation of unsigned (and unknown) bands from the ESSEX area from the early '80s! Includes an astonishing minimal synth track from CAPLO BANAAL (listen to soundclip) + a few new-wave style tracks & a few punk-powerpop songs (YAKS etc) and even a couple of fairly experimental punkish efforts (ANGELS ARE GO!)
I can't imagine this album would have had any push or distribution at the time, and therefore would probably have only sold a few hundred in the local region, so as is the case with most similar projects it's been long forgotten and is now a true sought-after rarity!
I've included three snippets from the actual record for you to listen......(in order: CAPLO BANAAL, THE YAKS, ANGELS ARE GO!)
Extremely Rare and virtually impossible to find ...Original UK PRESSING
TRACKLISTING :
side A: THE SHAKERS nothin' but talk / CAPTAIN LEMMING AND THE CLIFF HANGARS listen / ANGELS ARE GO! fallen / SIREN talk about me quietly / DEATH OBSESSION fighting continues / EXISTENCE don't belong to the crowd
side B: CAPLO BANAAL devil is in me / THESIS visitors / NIGHTSHADE sympathetic words / THE CARDS fats / SOME I'm in love with the barmaid / LIVING LEGEND enjoy yourself / THE YAKS remain silent
CONDITION : Vinyl: EXCELLENT (very light superficial surface marks only, looks like it's only been played a couple of times)
Picture sleeve: EXCELLENT- (small creased bottom left corner, and minor typical corner wear only). Includes original fold-out insert in perfect condition, see scan.
