Description
Up for auction is a very nice copy of the Cannonball Adderley album "Somethin' Else" originally released in the U.S. on Blue Note Records (BLP 1595) in 1958.
-47 W 63rd NYC labels
-Deep groove labels
-RVG stamped in run-out matrix
-Plastylite "Ear" or "P" in both run-outs/matrix
-Original laminated paste-down cover
Condition:
Cover is in beautiful condition, still has its original glossy shine. No ring wear on front or back, just some faint light rub. Seams are nice, no splits, no cracking or crazing. Corners are nice, not bumped, just a hint of rub. Back is nice and bone white, clean, just a hint of age. A very well-preserved example of this iconic cover. Grade: Excellent Plus (EX+), just a hint below NM.
Vinyl is also in great condition, still has its original glossy shine. No apparent scratches or scuffs, just a couple very faint, superficial hairlines probably from taking the vinyl out of paper inner sleeve a couple times. Labels are clean, unmarked.
Play-Tested:
When played in the recommended Mono Mode, this record sounds excellent, very clean and clear. No significant surface noise or pressing issues. Not audiophile perfect, but none of these originals are. Still a very nice, well-preserved original. Grade: Excellent Plus (EX+).
