KILLER SECOND album from the kings of boogie. Forget the Quo, forget Foghat and pretend that Savoy Brown never existed because Canned Heat out boogie the lot of them. The best thing about this album is its sheer unrelenting loyalty to the blues and, of course, a bevy of wonderful toons. Stand out track is 'On The Road Again', a worldwide smash hit single, but cuts like 'World In A Jug', 'Turpentine Moan' and the glorious twelve minute 'Fried Hockey Boogie' which out boogies ZZ Top by a country mile.
Wonderful stuff and a milestone blues rock album. Highly recommended.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.
Pressing: Liberty, UK, 1968 - Orig blue label Stereo
Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. A few visible spindle marks and one of two surface scuffs from sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. No other signs of use. Playback is rich, punchy and very dynamic. Grades as top MINT-!
Cover: Superb condition. Issued in a beautifully designed front only laminated cover - retains full gloss. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and one virtually invisible crease bottom right. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Virtually no wear to rear unlaminated panel. Grades as MINT-!
