Description
Here is a chance to acquire a barely played original first pressing of the rarest UK LP by The Can: Monster Movie on the original United Artists 'burgundy' label (UAS 29094) from 1969. This is Can's debut LP and only a very few copies of the original burgundy first issue sold before the label changed colour to coffee and cream. These days it is rare to see the true first burgundy pressing of Monster Movie offered to the marketplace. And a copy as beautiful as this one? When again?
Hopefully you can see from my pictures what a wonderful copy of Monster Movie this is. There is hardly a mark around either of the spindle holes on these gorgeous labels. This treasured disc has only have ever been played a handful of times - at most! Both sides of the vinyl look perfect when viewed in natural light, and even examination under harsh halogen lighting fails to show up any untoward marks. This superb treasured original first pressing stereo disc grades EX+.
The condition of the front laminated single sleeve is also indicative of the care this album has received over the last 41 years. The sleeve is strong and flat with all straight edges and virtually no sign of ringwear on the vulnerable black unlaminated rear (and certainly no touching up!). There is no unwanted writing, no rips and tears, hardly any creasing, in fact very little to report at all. This sleeve warrants a grade of EX-.
