Texas-born Tevin Campbell's second album remains one of the great mainstream r&b records of the early 90s, and it's slightly absurd that it has taken this long to receive a proper vinyl pressing outside Jamaica. Produced by heavyweights including Babyface, Narada Michael Walden and Prince, the album finds the Texas singer stepping smoothly out of teen prodigy territory and into full-blown soul star mode. This one opens with the effortless hooks and glossy groove of 'Can We Talk' before getting deeper into slow jam territory on the velvet smooth title track. Elsewhere, the Prince-penned 'Shhh' leans into slick late-night seduction, then 'Always In My Heart' delivers the sort of soaring balladry Tevin handled frighteningly well for a 16-year-old. Proper 90s r&b gold.
