Group members include Maggie Delves who provides superb vocals, and Pete Ryder who was also involved in the slightly earlier and equally rare folk album by Paradise Square.

"Beautiful delicate British progressive folk custom featuring lovely female lead singing alternating with fragile male vocals that are imperfect yet charming. This is an exceptional record, on equal footing with classics like Presence and Caedmon. Several songs combine acoustic guitar and piano for soft melancholy moods, including ‘Just A Beginner’, ‘Better Day’, the title track, and ‘Hill Climbing For Beginners’, the latter a cover of the Water Into Wine Band song. Other selections like ‘A Song For Judas’, ‘Longer And Longer’, ‘Sand In My Shoes’ and ‘Winter Lady’ build a brisk folky sound, skillfully mixing rhythm and lead acoustic guitar. Gorgeous ethereal female vocals on ‘September Night Song’ and ‘Summer’s End’. A super rarity, too - don’t be surprised to see a four-digit price tag! Comes in plain white glossy thin card sleeve and has plain white paper inner sleeve. (I have seen other copies of this LP for sale but in a picture sleeve, so maybe more vinyls were made than sleeves? I actually found several copies of this album and they were all in exactly the same type of plain sleeve)

This album is almost impossible to find, with rumours that roughly only 100 copies exist!

Record has not been played much and has just some minor storage/sleeve wear. Plays through fine with some slight background crackles which are not audible/noticeable a lot of the time when the music is playing, and which seem to fade off slightly after the first few tracks on both sides. There are a number of tiny light 'speck' marks on both sides, but these have very little effect on play other than one click about five seconds into side 1, and a handful of clicks during the first two tracks of side 2. Therefore vinyl on side 1 in very good+ condition with just a bit of faint surface/sleeve in places, and vinyl on side 2 in very good condition with a noticeable light hairline scratch which does not affect play.
Labels are very clean with just two faint spindle marks on side 1, and i can't see any spindle marks on side 2.
Sleeve in very good condition with just average general storage wear and no spine splits, writing or stickers.
Inner sleeve in excellent+ condition.
