Greetings again. This is item number FIVE on the way to June 21st when I will sell an original sealed Trip Thru Hell album right here on eBay

This listing is what I will call "the C.A. Quintet Midwest connection" listing.

Listed here is my own personal copy of MONEY MUSIC the HITS OF MID-AMERICA which I bought many many years ago.

MONEY MUSIC is a valuable collectors item in itself. My copy is in pretty good condition. I looked at it closely and could not see any real scratches but perhaps there are some light scuff marks on it. It has not been played in 30 years and probably was played only a few times back when I bought it. It does look like it needs to be cleaned. But, I will leave that to the buyer.

The C.A. Quintet has two of the twelve songs on this compilation. As members of the band, we personally knew many of the musicians in the other groups.

We played several joint appearances with the Stillroven and others. The drummer for T.C. Atlantic, Rod Eaton, was the artist who designed the cover for the Trip Thru Hell Album. The bass player for the Hot Half Dozen, Daryl Litchey, roomed in the same house as I did when the Trip Thru Hell Album was released. He later played with me in a group called Gangbusters after the C.A. Quintet disbanded and was a very close friend. The Underbeats were and still are my favorite local dance bands of that era.

The songs on this album, Mickey’s Monkey and Blow to my Soul, were songs the C.A. Quintet did before the Trip Thru Hell Album. They were done at a time before we gained creative control over our music in the studio. Mickey's Monkey actually was the number one song on the local radio stations in 1967.

I find it amusing there is a typo on the back of the MONEY MUSIC album listing the C.A. Quintet as the “CIA. Quintet”. Trust me, no one was less connected to any government agency than we were unless you want to count the times we got arrested or the tickets we got driving our bus.

Now I know this “Midwest” connection means little to people outside the area. So, I also included in this package a SEALED C.A. Quintet Live 1971 album and a new signed copy of the Live album that has never been out of it's cover. The second copy is in this listing so the buyer does not have to play the sealed copy of the album if they choose not to. Note: the records shown outside the cover are not the records for sale. They are shown here so a bidder can see what the inside labels look like. The records listed here have not and will not be out of their covers unless the winning bidder decides to remove them.

Again, I will list a variety of C.A. Quintet memorabilia every 10 days or so right here on eBay under this category until June 21st.

As I noted, June 21st 2006, is the 39th anniversary of our first recording contract and 40th anniversary of the year we became the C.A. Quintet.

If you are interested in bidding on the Original sealed Trip Thru Hell album on June 21st, you should note that NONE of the original albums were pressed off center like some urban legends have stated. They were all pressed at the same time with the same master. I should know as I was there. There were no “pops” or “hisses” in the original pressing. We would have not released them had they had any flaws. If you have a copy of the original album and it is “off center” or something, you either have a fake or a copy that was not stored properly over the last 40 years. I have a few mint non-sealed copies of the original album that have been examined by expert master recording engineers from major studios. They will verify that they are in perfect condition. You could play my copies side by side with the original master recording and they would match up perfectly. The sealed album that I will be selling has been stored correctly since the day I put it aside in 1968 and obviously is in new condition.
