Original UK CBS label mono 1st press LP.

'Sweetheart of the Rodeo' is the sixth album by the Byrds and was released on August 30, 1968. The new country influences of this album were in part due to Gram Parsons, but due to conflicts in the studio with Hillman & McGuinn, he was gradually eased out and finally sacked before the LP was released. Eventually most of his vocals were replaced by Hillman and McGuinn, although three of his vocal tracks were retained.

This is the original mono pressing with the rough orange CBS labels, the very earliest A-1 B-1 matrices and B-1 C-1 stampers!   The Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light laminate wear and small creases on the front cover & the rear cover has some light storage rubbing. The spine is intact, but worn and mostly readable, the CBS orange company inner is intact & in EX condition.     The record is in visually EX condition, with a few faint sleeve removal hairlines/bag scuffs and a couple of small needle marks visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two very faint spindle markings on each side.     The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves and in a couple of the quieter passages, overall, still a really great listen.   The matrix nos. are; 63353, A-1 stamper B-1, B-1 stamper C-1. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1968 UK mono issue of this album!
