Description
This piece is incredible! According to an online Byrds fan site, this was the very first release by the group while they were known as the Beefeaters and is incredibly rare, with only one other copy turning up, which happened about 3 years ago (44 years after it was released). What makes it rare is that it is on an Elektra records subsidiary label called Bounty records (which is undocumented in price guides and most online discographies of the group -- which only show DJ and Stock issues of the Elektra release). This Bounty release is a promotional copy (I highly doubt any stock copies exist as they were likely testing the waters with it before putting it out on the parent label). The songs here are Please Let Me Love You and Don't Be Long. I would assume they're the exact same versions that are found on the Elektra 45.
As you can see in the picture there is a very small label tear on the A side along with some ringwear (which looks more pronounced in the picture than it actually is). The record itself has a few scuffs and scratches, however both sides play nice and loud (play graded at VG+) with no scratches even being heard during either song except in the lead in and trail out groove areas when the song is not playing. I will give the disc an overall VG grade visually.
Don't let this one slip away, you may not see another copy of this turn up for sale for another 47 years!
