Description
What we have here is the UK 1971 reissue (the only reissue) of Buffy Sainte-Marie's 1969 album Illuminations, vsd.79300, by Vanguard records, matrix xsv 221574 - 1E. Presented for sale in very good condition.
Visual inspection of the vinyl shows up surface scratches and sleeve abrasions but having play checked it I can state that this does not manifest itself in scratches, clicks or really horrible jumps or sticks. In fact the record plays very well with minimal to no background hiss, a couple of clicks along the way but overall it sounds clean, fresh and in very good condition.
The gloss sleeve is in pretty Good condition considering it's age. No writing, inscriptions, scribbles. A bit of creasing mostly to the outer edges and spine. Reasonable opening wear. The spine itself is intact and mostly undamaged (please see pics). The inner label is in perfect condition, very slight spindle wear.
I had a great time listening to this one. It is as we may have said decades ago "way out there". Described as a "cosmic, invocation of pain, pleasure and divinity" it features lyrics by Leonard Cohen, a composition by Richie Havens and of course the sublime Guess Who I Saw in Paris. Also the first album to feature vocals through a synth! I don't think I've heard a similar album in my life.
I play check all my audio items with the exception of job lots where I will always state "Not Play Checked". I visually inspect with magnifiers. I may clean some items but not all. All vinyl, new included can and will sleeve abrasions and, or surface scratches which do not adversely affect the playing quality. I do not deal in damaged vinyl.
