Original US second Press LP released in 1967 the tan & blue Atco Atco Records label. Cat: 33-200A. This is an original MONO version!! The first pressing for a very short time did not include the track For what it’s worth so this is not a very first pressing but still and original 60’s pressing released in 1967.
This batch of LP’s are from a very recently acquired collection of all original late 60’s early 70’s pressing LP’s. There are around 200 albums I hope to list over the coming weeks some fantastic titles amongst them most over 45 years old!! I have hand cleaned and listened to every album and graded conservatively (as per usual) to give the most accurate grading I can. I hope you enjoy browsing or bidding on the titles as much as I have listening to them all.
The band themselves were displeased with this record, feeling that the production did not capture their on-stage energy and excitement. Yet to most ears, this debut sounds pretty great, featuring some of their most melodic and accomplished songwriting and harmonies, delivered with a hard-rocking punch. "For What It's Worth" was the hit single, but there are several other equally stunning treasures. Stephen Stills' "Go and Say Goodbye" was a pioneering country-rock fusion; his "Sit Down I Think I Love You" was the band at their poppiest and most early Beatlesque; and his "Everybody's Wrong" and "Pay the Price" were tough rockers. Although Neil Young has only two lead vocals on the record (Richie Furay sang three other Young compositions), he's already a songwriter of great talent and enigmatic lyricism, particularly on "Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing," "Out of My Mind," and "Flying on the Ground Is Wrong." The entire album bursts with thrilling guitar and vocal interplay, with a bright exuberance that would tone down considerably by their second record.

There are a few light spindle marks and age spots on labels. Record has some light scuff marks that cause some light crackles mostly noticeable between tracks and is in Excellent condition. Thick original sleeve has a small deletion hole on top left corner, some light ring wear and age spots, the start of a tiny seam split on bottom right corner, some tiny surface tears around edges and the start of a seam split on top left edge.
