Description

An original 1st press of Budgie on the UK MCA label. Matrix 1L/1L - very 1st cut. Stampers 1U/1K - placing this copy amongst the 1st few thousand ever to have been pressed. Take note of the label design... black background with blue hexagon - THIS is the 1st press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover with pinched spine. Also included is the original Decca blue and white inner sleeve dated to '72. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. To be honest there's precious little to complain at on this copy. Even those lower key acoustic tracks play very nice and clean. Overall a really superb player and a genuine 1st press from '72. Interference is very minor and infrequent. We're talking a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. A very solid player and a great addition to anyone's collection.
Cover (Vg+) Difficult to find in top-level condition, but this example acquits itself admirably. Relatively clean front without heavy wear or creasing. Expect a couple of blemish spots over on the left side, and some light handling - looks better than many copies. The rear looks good too with light handling and one blemish/stain over on the right side. Edge wear is relatively light and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is better than most examples - slight wear , but all text still visible. Overall the cover still retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Little ageing. No splits.
