Budgie - Self-titled ? A1/B1 1974 re-issue LP • UK MCA • Rare - Listen!
I am selling my complete 70'sand 80's rock collection so be sure to check out my other listings
Welsh trio Budgie produced four of the very best British rock albums to start their career. In my opinion guitarist Tony Bourge is an unsung hero, some of his guitar work is extraordinary, while the high pitched vocals and Rickenbacker bass licks of Burke Shelley have often drawn comparision with Geddy Lee of Rush. The debut, album self-Titled ‘Budgie’ is raw and unsophisticated but it has it’s moments including the bizarrely titled ’Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman’.
I am listing all of their first four albums (Budgie, Squawk, In For the Kill and Never Turn Your Back on a Friend) so be sure to check out my other listings.
Issue details This is the 1974 re-issue UK release, A1/B1, but still quite rare Catalog Number MCF2506 Vinyl Matrix: Side 1… MCF 2506 A - 1, Side 2… MCF 2506 B - 1
Condition Some surface scratches visible on vinyl. Labels very clean.
Sleeve is in very good condition, just some small signs of wear, slight creasing in places but nothing significant. See photos for more detail. Inner sleeve in very good condition.
Playback Side 1 - light crackles on lead in, some light static crackle at beginning of track 3. Side 2 - Audible scratch runs from start through first part of track 1 and continues on and off through track 1, also at beginning of track 2, not really loud but it’s there, couple of crackles towards end of track 2, couple of ticks early in track 3.
NOTE: I always play back through headphones to judge quality so many minor faults I list may not even be audible through speakers.
