Well, I'm listing a bunch of stuff I've had lying around as part of my collection that I've been accumulating for the last 10 years (when I started heavily collecting after graduating high school). I am parting with these because I am getting married in March of 2014 and my bride-to-be and I need to raise a lot of money during the month of November to pay for our honeymoon cruise by December 1st. My fiancee doesn't want me selling my personal items but I told her if it helps raise the money we need, it is worth it, so here I go with the selling... Neither she nor I have our parents helping out with all of the costs associated with the wedding and honeymoon so we are trying to raise all of the money needed ourselves... hopefully you will win some items from me to help us out!
Up for bid in this auction is a very rare 45 that was the first release for Party Doll by Buddy Knox With The Orchids backed by I'm Stickin' With You by Jim Bowen With The Orchids. Jim Bowen is of course Jimmy Bowen. This is on the Triple-D record label and is from late 1956. The condition of this 45 is very rough (G- although both sides do play through on my turntable, with a bit of noise) but this is a highly sought after 45. The group (soon rechristened the Rhythm Orchids) were selling this 45 directly themselves and not many of them have survived almost 60 years later.
Shipping for one 45 in the US is $3.50 and each additional is 25 cents (if you buy 10 or more of them I will offer a discount on shipping), Shipping for one 45 to Canada is $9.00 and is 30 cents for each additional 45. Outside of the US and Canada it's $13.00 for the first four 45's and then $1 for each additional 45 beyond that. Buyers in Italy, Greece and Spain MUST pay for registered mail as too many 45's get "lost" in the mail over there. The cost for registered mail is $25 for the first 45 and $1 for each 45 beyond that.
