Here is a very rare EP by Buddy Holly & The Crickets -The Sound Of The Crickets. This was released by Brunswick Records (EB 71038) in early 1958. This was the third Buddy Holly EP to be released in the US, and certainly one of the rarer ones. This super condition vinyl 45 rpm EP record is, quite simply put, as new. The vinyl is certainly no less than MINT -, with essentially NOTHING that can be seen that could be described as a flaw. Viewed under direct bright light there is nothing that can be discerned. This 45 is supremely clean and retains superb gloss. It is tempting to grade it Mint, it is that clean. Listen to the sound clip for evidence of this grading.
The Picture Sleeve is minimally VG+, very conservatively graded. The spine & top edge of the EP are beautifully clean, square, straight, intact & undamaged. Amazing, really, for a sleeve of this vintage. Only a minor, barely noticeable 1"seam split along the bottom edge of the card sleeve detracts from the sleeve being a candidate for a Mint- condition grading. I have added a number of photo's of the sleeve to detail this, all the paper is intact, it could certainly be repaired with a bit of care & bit of tape on the inside.
The front of the picture sleeve is near perfect, see the photo for evidence of this. There is one hole drilled through the jacket , in the bottom left corner. It is quite unobtrusive, see the accompanying photo's for evidence of this. The front still retains a superb gloss and the colors are wonderfully bright, clean, crisp & clear. The rear of the sleeve is also in fine condition, as the photo's should reveal.
The labels are as new, effectively day of release store stock condition, bright, clean, unmarked, flawless.. 100% clean & intact. See the photo's for evidence of this.
This is a fantastic condition copy of an extremely rare EP, with both sleeve & disc being miraculously well preserved. Tough to imagine a cleaner copy showing up....
