Description
This was a fascinating find in amongst a pile of 70's & 80's stadium rock albums and those TV-advertises specials we never bought, or did we?
One of very few (three?) Buddy Holly albums issued in his lifetime, this is full of gems and a great listen from end to end.
This is a first pressing, per the run-out markings of MG6222T3 & MG6222T6.
The front of the sleeve is bright and clear, noting some ring marking only at the bottom, a couple of pin holes at the top and wear but no splits along the edges. The spine printing is still clearly legible.
The surface did not look good and got two doses of my VPI cleaner. It still looks scuffed but plays remarkably well, with light to moderate surface noise that I did not find distracting and limited passages where there were a few repeated clicks. I enjoyed listening through both sides end to end and it's being played on equipment that exposes all the music and all the flaws, at the important end it's an Ortofon M20FL Super on an ADC carbon arm.
If, when you've played an album, you're at all dissatisfied, please let me know and I'll make it right. The condition of record albums is very subjective and the bottom line is that the customer is always right. I'm not going to get into the formality of grading except when a record is absolutely mint.
After cleaning, this record has been placed in a new sleeve and the supplied one included separately.
This will be shipped carefully packed in a rigid custom mailer via Media Mail.
