The final concert at Haitink's Berlin Philharmonic!

The final concert of Bernard Haitink's Berlin Philharmonic in May 2019, Bruckner "Symphony No. 7" will be released in direct cut LP.

The second direct cut LP of Berlin Phil Recordings following the "Complete Brahms Symphony" conducted by Rattle released in 2016. In contrast to Brahms, which was a one-point recording, this time the microphone settings consist of five main microphones and two sub microphones , faithfully reproducing the atmosphere of the concert space. The final surface of the disc (LP2-B surface) is engraved with the signatures of Haitink and Berliner Philharmoniker. And the number of production is a limited edition of 1884 set, which is related to the year when the work was premiere.

Haitink, who celebrated his 90th birthday in March 2019, announced his retirement in June of the same year. Known as the leader in Bruckner's interpretation, Haitink subsequently played Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 at the Vienna Philharmonic and the Salzburg Festival, London's Proms, and finally the Lucerne Festival. Bruckner's No. 7 is also a concert and recording that Haitink has repeatedly featured. Haiting's No. 7 recordings include the Concertgebouw Tube (1966, 1972, 1978) and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (2007). This performance with the Berlin Philharmonic was also full of beauty, and the second movement, which was said to have been written by Bruckner in the wake of Wagner's obituary, was a performance with all the senses.
