Description
Bruce Springsteen "Blinded By The Light/Blinded By The Light"
This is a US vinyl single from 1973 on Columbia 45805. The record is a promo copy with one side in Mono and the other side in Stereo. Both sides are 3:58 long. The picture sleeve is a stock issue. It has the lyrics on the back.
This picture sleeve is one of the Holy Grail's for Bruce's American records. It's a stock sleeve created for promotional purposes. No copies of this sleeve were sold in stores in 1973. There were exactly 500 sleeves printed by Columbia Records, which were sent to Mike Appel of Laurel Canyon Management. The sleeves were unglued and uncropped. Someone then folded and glued the sleeves and inserted the records. About 200 were distributed to DJ's, program directors, and critics in 1973. About 200 were saved and later sold after the settlement of the lawsuit with Mike Appel. The rest were never folded and never resurfaced.
Condition : Picture sleeve : M- / Record : M-
The vinyl looks near Mint and it plays near Mint. There is one light mark on the Stereo side and it can be seen, but not heard. The labels are perfect. The picture sleeve is Mint minus. There is absolutely no ring wear. There is no writing. There are no fingerprints. There are no seam splits. There are very tiny corner bumps. The top opening has minor bends.
About Me :
I started collecting records in 1966. I started selling in Goldmine in 1985. I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby. And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon. My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.
Packaging :
I take great care during packaging and do each one personally. I use hand cut cardboard, which I get from a trucking company. (It's so thick that you will save it and use it again.) Each piece is 1/2 inch thick and together they are very stronge. I always remove the record from the picture sleeve and tape them inside a clear plastic record sleeve. All packages are marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.
Postage :
You have to pay for the postage. So, I pre-weigh each package and you pay the exact amount the post office charges. There are no handling charges. This record will weigh 13 ounces when ready to ship. US winners can figure out your own postage costs for US First Class or Media Mail. I will send it through Paypal and you will get an email with the tracking number. Overseas buyers must use First Class Mail International. After I send it, I will send you an email with the date I mailed it and the US customs number. (Buyers from Brazil will assume all risks for shipping to your country.) I will send your record as soon as you pay. (same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM, Monday thru Saturday) I will combine postage if you win more than one record. Please wait for my invoice for all of your winnings in one package.
Serious Bidders Only :
Serious bidders only. If you bid you must be prepared to honor your bid. I expect payment within three days, but will gladly wait seven days, if you contact me. I no longer accept bids from buyers that have more than two strikes against them.
