Ultra rare collaboration with crazy children's electronic Christmas songs, uniting legendary creator of children's electronic psych Bruce Haack and weirdo singer-ukulelist Tiny Tim, surely one of the strangest and coolest Christmas records of all time! Though Tiny Tim gets top billing on the cover, Haack's synths and vocoded vocals can be heard on most tracks, with his trademark funky synth melodies and homemade drum machine backbeats throughout. A stunning unopened copy of one of the hardest to find Haack albums.
artist info from album notes etc.:
Haack was a genius of electronic music and education through sound who invented many early synthesizers and vocoders, released dozens of innovative electronic children's records on his Dimension 5 label starting in the early 1960s as well as non-children's psychedelic rock albums, publicly promoted electronic music on television, and composed commercially. He was also known for his interest in the occult and psychedelic drugs, the influences of both of which frequently made their way into his strange and wonderful recordings. He studied under modern composer Vincent Persichetti, collaborated with Russell Simmons, Raymond Scott, and Tiny Tim, and became an influential forefather to current electronic and techno musicians like Luke Vibert, Add N to X, Mouse on Mars, Money Mark, Stereolab, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Mu-Ziq, and Matmos. • Will be of interest to fans of Jean-Michel Jarre, Paul Beaver, Bernie Krause, Dick Hyman, Pierre Henry, Tomita, Vangelis, Jean-Jacques Perrey, Gershon Kingsley, Tom Dissevelt, Ondioline, Theremin, ARP, Donald Buchla, Robert Moog, Roger Roger, Cecil Leuter, Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Oskar Sala, trautonium, Clara Rockmore, Mort Garson, Philippe Arthuys, Ilhan Mimaroglu, Piero Umiliani, Gil Melle, and Kraftwerk.
