7" 33rpm + book Vinyl: side1: vg+, side2: g+ (I rarely grade each side separately but this one warrants it, both sides are the same recording so you're still getting one good clean version. The vinyl is visually flawless on both sides but one side plays with background noise throughout due to an apparent pressing defect, while the other side plays well with just occasional light surface noise)

Book: vg (partial tear at spine which has been repaired with clear tape; name written on title page; some yellowing; cover has some small stains) Insanely rare gem by Bruce Haack, the legendary creator of children's early electronic psych records in the 1960s and 70s. Here Bruce contributes his trademark funky synthesized music and some cool electronic sound effects using his homemade synth gear to help tell this story about the origin of Clifford growing from a small weak puppy into a giant, narrated by Indira Danks. In the mid 70s Haack did a few of these 'companion records' for the educational publishing company Scholastic which mostly ended up in school libraries and are now all but impossible to find (even rarer than his Dimension 5 private presses). This is the complete 7" record + first edition book folder set for Clifford the Small Red Puppy written and illustrated by Norman Bridwell. The same recording is on both sides of the record, except that one has page turn beeps and the other does not.

Haack was a genius of electronic music and education through sound who invented many early synthesizers, released dozens of innovative electronic children's records on his Dimension 5 label starting in the early 1960s as well as non-children's psychedelic rock albums, publicly promoted electronic music on television, and composed commercially. He was also known for his interest in the occult and psychedelic drugs, the influences of both of which frequently made their way into his strange and wonderful recordings.
