Description
Indescribable hard free music on the edge of trance and madness. Brötz was only screaming his tenor sax here and Fred Van Hove was trying to put flesh and life to an upright. So the balance is not in the favour of the belgian pianist as regards with the noisy attacks of the two others. Here and there, come some quiter moments where you wonder to Han Bennink's sonic imagination. One of his tricks is dropping hands full of dry peas on the skins of his drums. Also Bennink kit's was full of ethnic instruments which were played everywhere on the ground of the stage or even out ! Amazing group which was augmented by the late trombone master Albert Mangelsdorff. The wildest Brötzmann's albums ever. ~ RupertSound
Cover and vinyl are both in Very Good condition. Please check my other auctions for the other two LPs contianing the rest of this concert.
This week I'm selling all my old vinyl featuring Peter Brötzmann, mostly on the FMP label and dating back to the early 1970s. Most of these records were purchased new, and remain in very good to excellent condition - I will specify in the listing where any have surface scratches - none have skips or jumps. I've posted rips of some tracks at http://bjorsq.net/fmp/ so you can check out the sound before purchasing - if you have any specific questions about the quality and condition of individual LPs, please contact me.
Next week I'm selling a similar number of records which I have on FMP by other artists. Featured artists include Fred Van Hove, Han Bennink, Bill Laswell, Ronald Shannon Jackson, Sonny Sharrock, Misha Mengelberg, Andrew Cyrille, Albert Mangelsdorff, gunther Sommer, Harrry Miller, Louis Moholo, Alfred 23 Harth, Willi Kellers, Alex Schlippenbach, Willem Breuker, Rudiger Carl, Irene Schweizer and Peter Kowald.
