Description
For sale is Brian Wilson Presents Smile, originally released in 2004 by Brimel Records, exclusively licensed to Rhino Records, in a double album set with a gate-fold presentation. This is a limited edition 180 gram pressing with a wonderfully embossed cover. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are etched "Masterdisk" followed by "Don Grossinger", indicating that this record was mastered by Don Grossinger at Masterdisk Mastering, N.Y.C. These are all hallmarks of state-of-the-art techniques that produce superior sound qualities in a record. I bought this record new, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve, like I do to all my records. This preserves the integrity of the vinyl and any original insert(s) or inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the album. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The cover is Near Mint with a flawless presentation. The spine is Near Mint. The disc is visually graded as VG+ because of a scrape on the last track of Side 1, which was a cleaning machine accident, which produces ticking and surface noise. I would not hesitate to play-grade Side 2, 3, and 4 as Near Mint. I've only played this around once or twice, the last time was about 5 minutes ago when I discovered the defect. This is still one of the best copies of this album that I have ever seen or heard and you would be hard pressed to find one in any condition. This is truly an iconic record that is impossible to find. I have other Rock and Roll albums, as well as records of all genres in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're almost all Near Mint. Thank you for viewing by listing I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI HW-17 record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
