Description
Artist Brian Wilson
Label Capitol
Cat. No. CL 15438
Year 1966
Tracks:
Caroline, No b/w Summer Means New Love
The title song was written by Brian Wilson and Tony Asher and was recorded during the session for Pet Sounds. It was released as a single in March 1966 in advance of the album’s release.
It was rumoured that the song was inspired by Asher’s former girlfriend who had moved to New York and cut her hair. Wilson was obsessed with Carol Mountain but she did not return his interest.
It was originally titled Carol, I Know but Wilson misheard it as Caroline, No and the title stuck.
I have cleaned, and played the disc, and I would grade it, and the original company sleeve, as VG. Disc will be sent to winning bidder in 400 gauge clear poly cover in dedicated cardboard mailer with stiffener (as shown below). .
