Description
BOX OF 45 RECORDS
DESCRIPTION
For auction, a box full of old 45 records. I have sorted through them, but only to see what artists and songs. I did not remove any from the lot. Labels like Capitol, Columbia, Cadence, Fargo, Liberty, Promenade, Kapp, Dot, Decca, King, Atlantic, Mercury, Roulette, RCA, Coral, Paramount, etc. Some say promotion not for sale. Some have a radio station call stamped on them. Some say sample copy, not for sale. A few of the artists include:
- The Diamonds
- The Four Lads
- The Aquatones
- Elvis Presley
- Bing Crosby
- David Seville and the Chipmunks
- The Crew-Cuts
- Gene Vincent
- The Platters
- Pat Boone
- Rosemary Clooney
- Dean Martin
- The Everly Brothers
- The Mills Brothers
- Eddie Fisher
- The Rover Boys
- Bobby Helms
- Xavier Cougat
- Mario Lanza (Clear red vinyl record)
- Beach Boys (Picture Sleeve)
Some artists have multiple records (no duplicates). There is one of Bing Crosby with FrankSinatra, and the reverse has Bing Crosby with Grace Kelly. Alot of the records are in sleeves, but there are alot of loose ones also. I have alternated them so the unsleeved records do not rub against each other in shipping.
CONDITION
I have not played any of these, so I can't grade them. A random check shows records in pretty good condition. They are being sold as-is. See Photo. This box will be packaged into a larger box to protect the records.
POLICIES
Shipping Discount
Shipping and Handling is as stated in the auction. We do offer shipping discounts if you purchase multiple items. The total cost for S/H for multiple items is generally $5 or the cost of the highest S/H, plus about $2 per additional item. This applies to most single items, but could be more if the individual S/H fees are greater than $5. It could also vary depending on whether the multiple items are mixed, e.g. books plus other non-media rate items would all have to go for non-media rates. If you wish to make use of our discounted S/H, please email us with a list of items purchased, and we will give you a total S/H fee, after we repack the items. You can make one payment for all items won. This only applies to items purchased within 5 days of each other, and buyer must email us within two days to notify us they intend on making additional purchases.
Payment
Payment due within seven days of auction end. Buyer to pay all shipping and handling charges. Prefer PayPal payment, but will accept money orders or checks. If paying by personal check, I will hold the item until the check has cleared, 10 working days (two weeks) from receipt of funds. If paying by mail, buyer must email seller within two days of auction end, with desired payment method, so that payment instructions can be sent.
Condition
All items are sold "as-is". In the description section, we list the description as best we can. I try to be as thorough as I can with my descriptions, but if there is a specific concern, please email me with your question, as I want you to be happy with everything I sell. We rate items as:
-
Brand New - The item was obtained new, never owned by anyone else. It may still have a sealed plastic wrap on it. We do not generally use this rating, as all items are purchases from Estates or thrift stores.
-
Like New - The item appears to have never been used. The item may show slight evidence of shelf wear, but no more than you might find in a retail store.
-
Very Good - The item may have some additional evidence of shelf wear, such as a scuff on the outside, or for books, small creases or tears along the edges of the dust jacket, like you'd see on a item that had been slid off a shelf many times before being sold.
-
Good - The item shows evidence of wear and tear. If this rating is used, more details will be given for why we gave it that rating.
-
Acceptable - The item is in a condition where it can be used for the purpose for which it was intended.
For books, we will inspect the dust jacket or cover, and flip through the pages. We will use the above rating guide to indicate the general condition of the book. We will state either "No torn or marked pages noted", or we will state what we saw when we flipped through the book, such as "some writing in margins" or "some highlighting". If there is writing inside the cover, or on the flyleaf, we will state so. In some cases we obtain books that previously belonged to a library. In those cases we will state so. This means that the buyer can expect to see either a label affixed to the spine, or a card pocket inside the cover, or library stamps inside the book, or along the outside page edges, or any combination of things normally expected in a library book.
For electrical or electronics items, we will state in the description the condition that we see it. We will plug it in to make sure it passes the "Smoke Test", i.e., it doesn't catch on fire. We will state what it does when you turn it on. However, we are not a repair facility, and cannot say how well it works. If it functioned after being turned on, we will state what we observed. For computer components, we will not install them to see if they work. We will only comment on the appearance of the component.
For optical/photographic items, we will state how it appears, but we will not actually use the item, i.e., for cameras, we won't take pictures and see how well they come out, or try and install lenses, etc. We may click the shutter button, and make sure it opens and closes, and we may wind the take up film sprocket to see that it turns. Results will be stated in the description for these cursory checks.
For Videos, will will put them in a VCR and hit play, to make sure they have audio and video, but we will not watch the entire program.
For audio tapes, we may not put them into a cassette or CD player to test them out. If we did play them, we will state so in the condition, along with what we found.
Educational items are generally obtained from estate sales. These items may include Instructor's Textbooks, or Manuals, Presentation items such as transparencies or CD-ROMs, or Test Banks. These items are sold without any intent to provide anyone with any undue advantage over others. They are generally older versions of textbooks or test banks, and are sold to help you learn the material. However, we do not research the item to ensure that it is not a current edition. It is up to the buyer to determine whether the item is current, or a previous edition. Test Banks make a great aid by letting you create your own practice exams, which can help you identify areas of weakness that you need to study more. This is what you get when you buy study books, such as for entrance exams. They help you prepare for examinations. For this reason, all test banks are in demand, since the topics are the same, regardless of what book you are using. We will not load electronic test banks to see how they work. They are sold as is. Test banks are sometimes hard copy books, and will be stated as such.
Item Photographs
Photographs of items may be stock photos supplied with EBay's Pre-Filled information. For auctions, we always show an actual photograph of the item being auctioned. In some cases, the Pre-Filled information may not have a Stock Photograph. If you don't see a photo, it's because there is no stock photo available. In many cases, we will take a photo of the item, unless it is substantially the same as the Stock Photo. This ensures you see what you are actually purchasing. It does take a bit of time to take photos, adjust them (cropping), and upload them, which increases our labor, and can increase the cost of selling them. For this reason, items listed with very low cost, e.g., our "Under a Dollar Sales" or "Penny Clearance" categories, will not have actual photos, unless we already have a photo from a higher price or auction item, that's now being sacrificed to move inventory.
Books and Pre-Filled Information
In some instances, books are listed with pre-filled information. This information is based on the ISBN number of the book. We are selling our books by ISBN number, if available. In some instances, the ISBN number of the book being sold is not listed by EBay, and we sell by the title, which may have a different ISBN number because it is a newer edition. If this is the case, we will state in the description that this book is different than what EBay has listed. In all cases, there may be a stock photo displayed by EBay which is different from the cover of the book we are selling. If the listing shows "Stock Photo" the book you're buying may appear different than the one shown. It will be the same book, but may be a different printing of the book. If there is any difference between the book being sold and the book shown, we will state this in the description, so there is no misunderstanding of what the buyer is purchasing.
Shipping and Handling
Shipping and Handling is as stated in the auction. We generally ship the next business day after funds are received. Transit time for shipping can be long, particularly for Media Mail, which can take weeks. If you wish to request Special Handling, i.e., Specific shipping container, specific packing material, or specific USPS rate (e.g. Priority), you MUST contact me for a new S/H fee before paying for the auction. I will not honor special requests after payment is complete. In addition, I have offered the option of paying to insure the auction item. If you choose not to pay for insurance, I will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items. If you have not insured the shipment, you accept responsibility for the shipment. All items sold are sold "as-is", except for what I have noted in the condition section. If you have a specific question about the item, please email me, and I will provide you as much detail as I can.
Insurance
We recommend all buyers pay for insurance. Our responsibility is to pack and ship the item purchased. Mishandling after we deliver it to the USPS is not our responsibility.
Returns
Our general policy is that all sales are final, as all items are sold in "as-is" condition. However, if a buyer does change their mind, and wishes to return an item, it must be returned, at buyer's expense, in the condition sold. We will refund the sale price, less S/H fees. If the buyer receives a book that is substantially different from what the listing description says, other than condition change due to USPS handling, we will accept return of the book, and reimburse the buyer the cost of the item and the S/H fees paid at purchase. If the item arrives damaged, the buyer must initiate claim procedures with the USPS (See section on Insurance).

Feedback
I am proud of my feedback record, and wish to maintain my nearly 100% positive record. If you have a problem with an auction item not meeting the condition stated in the auction, please email me first, so we can discuss the problem. I try to be as thorough as I can with my descriptions, but if there is a specific concern, please email me with your question, as I want you to be happy with everything I sell. I will leave feedback for all buyers, after the transaction has been completed, to include you leaving me feedback after the item arrives. This is how I know you received the item, and it arrived OK.
