Description
You are bidding on a like-new, archivally stored, test pressing, picture-disc version of Boris' 12" vinyl "Vein"- Drone Version.
Important Records and Boris worked together to create a unique release. The original intention was to do a crystal clear picture disc that contained an outer ring of skull designs on a mylar sheet sandwiched between the A and B platters. The test presses that Important received back from the manufacturer, however, were not up to the label's or the band's standards. There are minute bubbles between the platters as well as the skull design being slightly distorted due to the heat process of creating the picture disc. After multiple attempts at creating a picture disc version, they decided to go with a screenprinted edition that was eventually sold.
To further the unique quality of this release, of the 1500 total released screenprinted albums, 1100 of them were released in the U.S. and contained different music from the 400 that were released in Europe. The U.S. version has been dubbed the "Hardcore" version because the 12 tracks contained on it are Boris in their hardcore-style. The more rare "Drone" version (of which this is the test pressing) contains only one track per side and is Boris in their long-form drone-style. (See pictures to confirm that there are not multiple tracks per side.)
This is the rarest of the rare when it comes to Boris releases - a test pressing of the rare European "Drone" version of "Vein". Be sure to act quickly if you want this in your collection!
This record was purchased directly from Important Records and never played in my possession. It comes with a few of the mylar skull design inserts.
