Description
Booker Ervin is best known for his work with Charles Mingus, but this Candid solo recording, along with his Prestige solo albums, really set him aside as one of the greats. Appearing in his stellar backing trio is George Tucker on bass, Al Harewood on drums and one “Felix Krull” on piano, most likely a Nat Hentoff-assigned name given to Horace Parlan who was contracted to Blue Note at the time. Tucker and Harewood were part of Parlan’s quartet at the time, as was Ervin for a spell. The tunes are; Mojo Uranus Poinciana Speak Low Booker's Blues Boo This copy of Candid 8014 is an original deep groove Mono pressing. It is in unbelievably beautiful condition. It looks unplayed and has retained it's original shine. NM! The jacket is in EX+ condition - spines are tight. It has some very minor shelf wear visible in the white's on the front cover, which is the rare original textured version. There is also some minor age yellowing visible on the back.
