Description
Vintage Bolex H16 16mm movie/cine camera in excellent condtion.
The camera has 2 viewfinders: an optical one on the left side of the camera and the reflex viewfinder on the top right which enables you to view through the active lens while shooting. The optical viewfinder can easily unclip from the camera to be used as an inexpensive alternative to a Director's Lens, enabling you to prepare for a shoot without having to set up the camera.
The camera has a swivel turret with three lenses - YVAR 16mm - Switar 25mm - YVAR 75mm.
Also included is a small set of filters, the rewind crank, pistol grip, and a small Bolex camera stand.
This camera shoots at speeds of 8, 16, 24, 32 and 64 frames per second with the ability to change speeds while the camera is running. Time lapse and animation is possible by using the side release button.
Even though almost everyone is shooting digitally these days there is no better way to learn the art of movie making than with film. This is a great camera to learn with. Everything is manual, so you are completely in control. Also you don't have to worry about batteries and recharging them - the motor is 'clockwork' - you simply wind the crank and start to shoot.
These days I shoot exclusively digitally, but I learned my trade with cameras like this. It really does give you a great foundation to move into digital with.
