Description
After Bobby left Joe Quijano's band he formed his very first band in 1965 and recorded this debut on the very rare and highly sought out Fonseca label. El Mensajero aka Ritmo Pa Gozar features Bobby still playing trumpet as his first instrument before he switched to bass. The band features singer Junior-Chamaco Morales and the Pastrana Brothers, Joey and Willie on timbal and congas respectively who later went on to make a name for themselves with their own band. The album has cha cha cha, mambo jazz(Latin jazz), montuno, guaracha and mambo.
Side A Cha con Bembe El Mensajero Try Out Bombon Para Don Jose very slight surface markings, no scuffs or needle marks, has had very few plays and has been extremely well cared for, short scuff line on label by spindle hole

VG plus Record has black label with silver block printing. Fonseca records label features a G cleft and pentagram Fonseca cat. # 1108
Front cover is in very good condition, glossy group photo has a 1/4 inch scar on the background curtain underneath the e of El Mensajero. Top left and right corners show some fold wear
Back cover's white background shows some discoloration throughout, however it does not interfere with any of the black, block printing of the liner notes(band members bios), song listings or B&W photo of Bobby with horn in hand.
No split seams, bottom center cover edge has 1 inch cover film lift.
