Rare original 1971 mono pressing of Bobby Valentín – Rompecabezas on Fania Records (LP-00418). A cornerstone salsa dura LP arranged and directed by Valentín, featuring powerhouse lead vocals from Marvin Santiago in one of his earliest and most iconic performances.

Produced by Larry Harlow and packaged with classic Izzy Sanabria cover art, this album captures the raw, brassy energy of New York salsa at its peak. Backed by a stellar lineup including Cheo Feliciano, Ismael Miranda, Paquito Guzmán on chorus, and fiery brass and percussion from Oscar Colón, Aldo Torres, Melvin Sotomayor, Mike Torres, Humberto Ramírez, and more.

Highlights include the salsa anthem “Vete Pa’llá,” the streetwise “El Matacán,” the reflective “Copas de Soledad,” and Marvin Santiago’s dramatic delivery on “Papel de Payaso.” A heavy, rootsy Fania classic sought after by collectors worldwide.
