Description
Written by Sonny Curtis of the Crickets, “I Fought The Law” was recorded by Bobby Fuller and his band and first released on the artist’s own small El Paso-based Exeter label in 1964. The band’s popularity in West Texas led to a national recording contract and the Bobby Fuller Four re-recorded “I Fought The Law” in 1965, scoring a top 10 hit.
Six months later, Fuller was dead under mysterious circumstances.
This is a superb example of the rare FIRST version of “I Fought The Law” on Exeter. The vinyl is bright and shiny and the labels are unmarked.
Grading the vinyl: Conservatively I would grade both sides as VG++ although some folks would certainly call it Mint Minus (M-). Whether it’s VG++ or M-, this is the nicest copy I’ve seen in 40 years. Returns are always accepted if not satisifed.
