Grading Standard:
Mint (M)
These areabsolutely perfect in every way. New, Mint Sealed/Unopened
Near Mint (NM OR M-)
A good description of a NM record is “it looks likeit just came from a retail store, and it was opened for the first time.” Inother words, it’s nearly perfect.
Excellent (EX)
LP may have a faint surface mark or two barring itfrom being truly Near Mint, but sound quality will not be affected at all, cover sleeve is just short of Near Mint, often used for cover sleeves inShrink, or with no ringwear or staining or easily visible flaws whatsoever, seams and spine fully intact.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
A good description of a VG+record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint.”
Very Good (VG)
Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ record aremore obvious on a VG record. Minor writing, tape or a sticker can detract fromthe label.
