Bobbie Gentry, Tom Jones, Robert Goulet, Ella Fitzgerald, Al Martino, Tony Martin, "Stars in the Fight Against...Multiple Sclerosis." You are bidding on a RARE radio station promo album, a 2-LP set of 15 minute programs to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society. These 4 mini-programs were meant to be broadcast by radio stations to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis. 1970 release, mighty RARE now, with a gatefold cover. A mix of music and interviews, with terrific live performances by Tom Jones, and a surprising interview with Bobbie Gentry, in which she quotes Tennessee Williams, and recounts her early days in Mississippi. The gatefold cover is VG+, with small seam splits at the top and bottom. The vinyl varies from side to side. Side 1 (Tom Jones) is Mint-minus. Side 2 (Bobbie Gentry) is VG+. Side 3 (Robert Goulet) is flawed, with some large surface scratches resulting in many clicks -- I'd grade it Poor, as a result. Side 4 has a surface scratch again -- or a pressing flaw -- on the Ella Fitzgerald portion (G+), yet is back to Mint-minus on the Tony Martin and Al Martino sections, 5 minutes each. Play graded, strict grading. So this cool 2-LP set has its flaws, for sure, but I don't expect to ever see another copy.
