Bob Marley & The Wailers: Rastaman Vibration LP (Vintage UK 1978 2nd Pressing)
This is a slightly later vintage, Island records, second pressing released in the late 1970's with the iconic blue labels. It was purchased by me over 40 years ago and has been very well looked after as part of my personal record collection ever since. Its still in lovely condition for a record of this age with no seam splits to the gatefold cover or the printed inner sleeve and still a sharp readable spine. The vinyl itself is in excellent condition with only a few non feelable marks only actually noticeable when scrutinised under a very bright LED light. I have just wet cleaned it in my professional record cleaning machine with the award winning L'art du Son cleaning fluid so it is now free from static and in the best possible condition for the next owner to enjoy. I have also test played both sides all the way through on my Project Debut Carbon turntable fitted with an Ortefon 2M Blue stylus and it sounds fantastic. The record sits perfectly flat on the deck and plays through beautifully with barely any background noise only really occasionally noticeable on the run ins, but that occasional warm crackle is exactly why we love the sound of vinyl. A truly dynamic and analogue sound that is far better than the all the recent reissues that were pressed from remastered digital files. Original vinyl is the way reggae should definitely be heard and the odd non intrusive light crackle just adds to the enjoyment of the pure analogue sound.
