This is a very rare and highly collectible item.
The gold-stamped original "promotional" copy of the "Babylon By Bus" by Bob Marley & The Wailers comes with the original, complete, massive collection of promotional materials as originally distributed by Island Records upon the albums first release. These items are all in excellent condition and exude a sense of historical significance and value (see pictures for details). This is the type of thing one might expect to see at the Bob Marley museum in Kingston, Jamaica -- which does not have this on display. The actual vinyl records show signs of play -- I would grade somewhere between VG/VG+ -- they are played tested and sound great. The record sleeve shows signs of wear -- softened edges and some shelf wear/creasing (see pictures). The inner pictures sleeves have splitting on their seams but the picture surface on both are fine. Thanks for looking -- own a piece of history!
Promotional materials include two original, glossy promo photographs; three multi-page biographies and artist information documents; a double-size reproduction of an article "The Observer"; and a deluxe, four-page fold-out spread originally from New York Times magazine. These items were specifically produced at the time for promotional purposes. I wasn't able to post extensive pictures of all documents/pages as there is a twelve-photo limit.
