Bob Marley Legend 1984 RARE 1st Jamacian Press VG-.


For auction a decent listeners copy but rare original Jamaican 1st press of the compilation Legend by Bob Marley and the Wailers. Released in 1984, this greatest hits album is one of the best. It has sold an estimated 25 million copies worldwide and 12 million in the US alone. It is the best selling reggae album of all time and is considered one of the best albums of all time. It ranked in the top 50 at #48 on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list from 2020.


Vinyl is play graded VG-. Several surface marks that are somewhat deep that can be felt on side 1 through tracks 3-6. They do not affect playback. The entire album plays with background noise of static of various degrees but never too overwhelming. No skips or jumps. Still an enjoyable listen. Please see pics.


Gatefold cover is also in VG- condition. Many signs of shelf wear. Creases on front, back and inside gatefold. Ring wear on front and back. Corners and seams are roughed up but only two minor splits that are taped in middle of both top and bottom. Front of gatefold on open end has tape to probably stop peeling. Title is partially legible. Holds up well and still solid and protects vinyl. Please see pics.
