Description

Hi everyone, thanks for taking a look at my auction. This Mobile Fidelity pressing is part of a large collection of MFSL LPs I’ll be auctioning off over the next several weeks. Please check out my other auctions; there are over 130 MOFIs I’ve finally decided to part with.

I'll be out of town from the 8th through the 11th, so please try to ask me any questions you might have early in the auction - I may not get a chance to answer any questions on the last day of the auction. Thanks!

If you do not have a US shipping address where UPS can deliver, or cannot pay via money order or cashier's check, PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS AUCTION. I wish I didn't have to put this so early in in my text, but the last few weeks have taught me that some folks just don't have time to read beyond this point...

This auction is for a sealed Mobile Fidelity Anadisc 200 gram pressing of Bob Marley and the Wailer's "Exodus" (MFSL 1-221). When this record was released by Mobile Fidelity in mid '95, my staff and I were fired up. It's not like EVERY title Mobile Fidelity has chosen to release has been a musical home run. (Not that I'd ever doubt the musical merit of Bernie Krause, of course...) But Marley - now that's more like it! This time they picked a true classic. This one has been hidden away for the last 12 years, but it's time for it to go to a home where there aren't multiple copies. These were pressed in a limited run of 5000 copies; this one is serial # 3728. There is a 1 inch opening in the perforated zip strip part of the outer bag at the bottom right hand corner. Other than that, it's mint - no dented corners or other visible flaws at all.

*****************************THE FINE PRINT******************************

I own a high-end audio store in Ann Arbor, Michigan called Overture Audio. We’re a leader in 2-channel and analog playback, and if this is an open LP, it was probably played once or twice on several thousands of dollars worth of Linn turntable. And, it would have been cleaned on the store’s VPI HW17 or VPI Typhoon record cleaning machine. Overture Audio originally purchased the majority of these LPs directly from Mobile Fidelity.

I have 8 years of perfect feedback on eBay – in addition to 5 years of perfect feedback under “overtureaudio” as well. If you’re lucky enough to win one of the records from this collection, you’ll be very happy or your money back – you can expect good communication and no hassles. I know there is a wide range of standards out there when it comes to record grading. It’s safe to say that I’m pretty compulsive about taking care of LPs. They were always stored properly, and were always kept in heavy plastic outer sleeves. As I mentioned above, if this LP was played at all, it was on an extremely well set-up Linn turntable with a cartridge that cost an amount that my wife must never find out. Again, if you’re not happy with the condition of one of my LPs, you’ll get a no-hassle refund. I won’t, however, give a refund on a sealed LP once the buyer has opened it.

For payment, I’ll be accepting money orders or cashiers checks. I’d rather go hunting with Dick Cheney than deal with Paypal again; don’t even ask. Oh, you’re a fan of Mr Cheney? Sorry about that; how about “I’d rather gargle Drano than take Paypal”?

As for shipping, your record(s) will come from my store via UPS ground in sturdy cardboard LP shipping boxes. I will combine multiple records to give you a break on shipping. If you want me to use a faster form of UPS, just ask – I’ll shoot you a price.
