Description

This is a very good copy of  super rare US mono white label promo copy of , Bob Dylan, Freewheelin, the second LP released by the artist on Columbia records in 1963. This is super rare in that although it is not near mint or even excellent, it is so rare due to the fact that it is a promo, although it is not a first pressing with the 4 deleted tracks. The timing strip on the cover lists tracks that were deleted (Rocks And Gravel, Let Me Die In My Footsteps, Gamblin Willie's Dead Man's Hand, and Talkin John Birch Blues). Even though not a first pressing this is an almost impossible to find item in any condition, with near mint stock copies of this exact item having a book value of $800. This is the only promo of this LP I have ever seen let alone owned. The last copy of this rarity in similar condition that came up in September, 2014 sold for over $500

As to grading, I grade very conservatively following Goldmine Record grading standard. Except that for records that are a notch below near mint, rather than VG ++, I prefer to use grade of Excellent. I do not use VG++ grade in addition to Excellent grade as is done by some.

Visually the LP is in very good condition with marks visible on both sides although not a lot. There are three marks on Side 2 that can be felt and sound, one that begins at the first cut and extends to beginning of second cut, another that is contained within the second cut, and another that starts at the third cut but can only be felt in the 4th and 5th cuts. The LP play grades at very good with ticks where lines can be felt but no skipping. The LP plays with ticks and light crackle  here and there but does not skip and is still is enjoyable. The first side plays quieter than the second side. As the LP was tested several weeks before listing it should, of course, be cleaned again before play. The cover is in very good condition. The corners on all sides are very slightly worn. The top seam and bottom seams are strong with only minor  rub wear/loss of color and no splits on either seam. The spine is strong as well. The front and back covers are very nice with excellent color. There is slight bit of  wear noticeable on the front cover. The front and back cover are clean with vibrant color but there is slight very slight ring wear visible on both sides of cover.

The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the same LP sold and shipped is returned in the same condition .Buyers that behave in a less than ethical manner will be reported and blocked from participation in future auctions. The LP will be separated from the cover when shipped to prevent seam splitting.

If you bid on and win more than one item shipping for multiple purchases will be adjusted. If you win more than one item do not pay until I have had the opportunity to issue new invoice to reflect combined lower shipping cost. Shipping for one item is $4 and includes tracking

I only ship to Paypal confirmed addresses in the United States. Thanks for looking.

Save me as a seller as I have several sealed rare 1960's and 1970's rock, soul, blues and jazz LPs that will be auctioned. I am also starting to auction open and very clean MFSL and other audiophile pressings (Nautilus Superdisc, Direct Disk, Quiex, Columbia Mastersound, and Japanese pressings including number of originals), as well as promos. I will ultimately be auctioning almost 6500 rare and very clean LP albums
