Original Columbia Records promotional release of Bob Dylan’s 3rd studio album “The Times They Are A-Changin’” released on February 10, 1964. Unlike the previous album “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” which included original material with several cover versions, “The Times They Are A-Changin’” contains only the original songs composed by Dylan. It’s practically impossible to find this promo release in such an amazing condition. This promotional issue was sent to radio stations several months before the album’s official release date. Original 1st print matte textured cover contains a “Columbia Records Radio Station Service Not For Resale” timing strip sticker “For CL 2105”. The back cover contains the “3” number at the bottom right corner identifying that the cover was printed by Modern Album Finishing Co. in Terre Haute, IN. The covers containing the “3” identifier were distributed to Columbia Records, Terre Haute, IN pressing plant. Special promotional Columbia Records “Radio Station Copy – Not For Resale” white labels with the “CL 2105” catalog number and 2¾” pressing ring. This promotional includes the original 12” x 12” white insert continuing the “11” outlined epitaphs present on the back cover. the company used in this case. 1st pressing vinyl with the very early 1st matrix numbers containing the “T” identifier of the Columbia Records, Terre Haute, IN pressing plant: Side 1 - o XLP-75526-1F T A I I I; Side 2 – o XLP-75527-1G A I. The album comes with the original blue striped inner sleeve with the Columbia logo at the center.

The beautiful clean cover is in Near Mint condition, just like the original insert and inner sleeve. Side 2 of the vinyl looks unplayed (Near Mint~Mint Minus) and doesn't have any marks while Side 1 has only three very light non-feelable small surface marks, which don't affect the playback in any way, and looks as if it has been played only a couple of times (Near Mint Minus). The glossy vinyl has magnificent factory lacquer. The snow white labels are in Mint condition, very clean and don't have any spindle marks, wear or scuffs at all. The vinyl plays amazing with perhaps, only some very light occasional static which most likely would go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
