Original very early true 1st US Stereo pressing of Bob Dylan’s 2nd studio album released by Columbia Records on May 27, 1963. Extremely rare 1st print Stereo cover variation without the “Monaural CL 1986” catalog number on the back. Original only 1st pressing “Singing His Sensational Hit ‘Blowin’ in The Wind” 2 ⅝” x 3 ⅛” hype sticker on the front cover. Based on the identifier in the form of a “3” at the bottom right corner the cover was printed by Modern Album Finishing Co, New York. True 1st US release Columbia Records 2.75” pressing ring CS 8786 labels with the “360 Sound ‘Stereo’ 360 Sound” banner in black (not white as seen on the 2nd pressing). This earliest Stereo copy was pressed at the Columbia Records, Terre Haute, IN plant as identified the “T” factory identifier in the runout groove. The mastering of this copy was done by the Columbia Records and CBS, Inc subsidiary, Customatrix Inc. with the runout grooves containing a small machine stamped “o” symbol. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - o XSM-58719-3AE  T; Side 2 - o XSM-58720-2G. The album comes with the original blue striped Columbia Records inner sleeve.

I grade the cover as Excellent. It's very clean and doesn't have any splits or writing. The light ring wear is only present at the bottom of the front cover. Some very light corner and edge scuffing. The rigid spine has a fully readable text. The glossy vinyl is graded as Excellent Plus (practically Near Mint Minus) for Side 1 and Excellent Minus for Side 2. Both, Side 1 and Side 2, have just several very light non-feelable surface marks. The vivid red labels are very clean, scuff- and wear-free only having just a few very light spindle marks that can only be seen under a strong light source. The original blue Columbia inner sleeve is in Excellent condition and doesn't have any splits. The original songbook is in great vintage condition only having some light shelf wear and signs of use. The vinyl sounds great only having some occasional static with Side 2 having a couple of light pops in the beginning of the first track. Perhaps, they will disappear if you change the balance of your tonearm. Most likely, the static and pops also could get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
