UK CBS BPG 62202 Mono 1962
Mega Rare original 1962 first press by Philips.
These original 1962 Philips copies are rare and differ from the later CBS pressed copies
in many ways. This is a great copy in EX+ / EX+ condition.
The front laminated flipback sleeve is in great condition, much thicker than later versions, it has a couple of
light creases and the rear is unmarked.
The spine is perfect with CL 1779 (which is the USA number) and BPG 62022. later copies did not have these!!
On the rear cover it has a large BPG 62022 on the top right and no sleeve manufacturers credits, just
"CBS is a trademark of Columbia broadcasting System Inc." Later copies had none of this.
The vinyl compliments the sleeve in EX+ condition with no marks of any kind that I can see, other than a few
absolute tiny sleeve removal marks that can only be seen when held up to a light, this has seen very little play.
The dark orange labels are rough textured and again are perfect unmarked.
They display a large BPG 62022 top right of the boxed CBS logo and BPG-62022 1L / 2L to the
bottom of the logo. Also the rare "Recording First Published 1962" which according to the searchingforagem
website was not used by CBS in the UK after 1962!!!
The Phillips style matrix numbers in the run off are BPG 62022 1L 2 =420 VVV and BPG 62022 2L 1 // 420 V0.
It is in its original Poly lined inner "British Patent No 800513 British And Other Patents Pending.
A true 1962 first press which at the time was made in very small amounts.
