UK CBS SBPG 62202 STEREO 1962
Mega Rare original 1962 first press by Philips with the STEREO
stamped front and rear sleeve.
This is an extremely rare copy, I,ve never seen one of these on Ebay before. This is even
rarer than the US Columbia 6 eye version. Check out the definitive website for Dylan
pressings www.searchingforagem.com which states "very few of these can have been sold"
Well here is one and the condition is an incredible near mint, just look at the pictures.
The laminated sleeve is the thickest I've seen with no creases, writing, tears or marks.
The laminate is near perfect with a mirror shine and no dullness and the rear is white and
clean with perfect flipbacks, incredible condition. It differs from later releases in many ways with thick boxed
CBS logo on the front, SBPG 62022 under the logo and the large boxed STEREO stamp.
The spine is perfect with CS 8579 (which is the USA number) and SBPG 62022. later copies did not have these!!
On the rear cover it has a large SBPG 62022 on the top right and no sleeve manufacturers credits, just
"CBS is a trademark of Columbia broadcasting System Inc." Later copies had none of this.
The vinyl compliments the sleeve in NM condition with no marks of any kind that I can see, other than a few
absolute tiny sleeve removal marks that can only be seen when held up to a light, this has seen very little play.
The dark orange labels are rough textured and again are perfect unmarked.
They display a large SBPG 62022 top right of the boxed CBS logo and SBPG-62022 1Y / 2Y to the
bottom of the logo. Also the rare "Recording First Published 1962" which according to the searchingforagem
website was not used by CBS in the UK after 1962!!!
The Phillips style matrix numbers in the run off are SBPG 62022 1Y *2 //420 OV VV and SBPG 62022 2Y 2 // 420 VVO.
It is in its original Poly lined inner "British Patent No 800513 British And Other Patents Pending.
So here we have an original 1962 Stereo Philips press which must have been made in absolute tiny amounts in 1962, and in
an incredible condition and so rare!!!.
You just wont find a better copy or even another copy like this in any condition.
