Description
The rear of the record sleeve of the Long Player offered for sale her ‘introduces’ Bob Dylan with the words ‘CBS is proud to introduce a major new figure in American folk music – Bob Dylan’. There is also a quote from the New York Times of Friday September 29th 1961 :- Bob Dylan : A Distinctive Folk-Song Stylist. ‘Although only 20 years old, Bob Dylan is one of the most distinctive stylists to play in a Manhatton caberet in months.’ The record is dated 1962 but was pressed in England for CBS who did not have a facility for pressing records in the United Kingdom until about 1964 or 65. Probably the record was pressed for CBS by Philips but there is no mention of this either on the record or the sleeve. However this is some of the very earliest Bob Dylan and the record and cover are still in excellent condition based upon the Record Collector Magazine’s Grading Guide.
