Description

Bob Dylan  "Highway 61 Revisited"

This is an original US vinyl pressing on Columbia CS 9189  from 1965.     This is the stereo pressing with the alternate take of 'From A Buick 6'.    The side one matrix number is : XSM110640-1C.    This song is very different from the regular version.     It starts and ends with loud harp from Dylan.    The band plays faster and much looser.     The lyrics in the 2nd verse are different.    In the regular version he sings : "When the pipe line gets broken and I'm lost on a river bridge, I'm all cracked up on the highway and near the waters edge, then she comes down the thru-way ready to sew me up with a thread".      On the alternate take he sings : "well when a pipe line gets lost you know by the river bridge, and I'm all cracked up by the waters edge, she comes running down the thru-way with her dynamite and her thread".     If you collect Dylan and you need this, then you know how hard it is to find.

It's also one of the best albums in the history of rock and roll.     Every song is good.     The album starts with the best single in rock and roll : "Like A Rolling Stone".       It ends with the epic : "Desolation Row".

Overall Condition is : Cover is VG /  Record is VG

The cover is VG with no ring wear, but light overall wear.    There are no seam splits, but there is seam wear on the top seam on the right where a few flecks of paper are missing.    There is no writing, but the back cover is stamped in big red letters : "DEMONSTRATION  NOT FOR SALE".      There is a tiny 1 X 1/8 inch cover tear on the back at far right near the edge ( it's white on white and hard to see).         The vinyl looks VG and it plays VG+.   There are light scuffs and handling marks.     There are a few pops between song  3 and 4 on side one.     The labels are clean with light spindle marks.  The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve.

The songs are : Like A Rolling Stone, Tombstone Blues, It Takes A Lot To Laugh It Takes A Train To Cry, From A Buick 6, Ballad Of A Thin Man, Queen Jane Approximately, Highway 61 Revisited, Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, and Desolation Row.
