Description

An original Mono 1st pressing on UK CBS from 1964 - please bear in mind there are earlier pressings by Philips in the UK. Matrix 1A-1/2B-1. The heavy set vinyl (with rough textured labels >>> '33') comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover with patents pending and 3 flipbacks. Possibly the best copy I've viewed/auditioned. Also, included is the original 'Foreign Patents pending' inner sleeve. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In super condition and has clearly only seen the lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely significant. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with tremendous clarity. Don't underestimate how unusual a copy this well preserved is. Dylan vinyl is very very hard to find perfectly preserved - let alone the cover which we'll get onto shortly. Much of Dylan's early work is mostly acoustic and they are by far the hardest to find playing perfectly quiet. But this copy, literally, knocks the ball straight outta the park! Clean as anything, in fact, as clean a copy as I've ever heard. Interference is totally absent. We could only detect a couple of crackles in a couple if isolated moments. As you can imagine playback is hauntingly realistic. This is exactly the sort of copy a collector would want to land.
Cover (Ex+) Ok, so if the vinyl wasn't enough to get your attention - just take a look at those shots of the cover. The front is borderline immaculate - I certainly have never seen one close to this level of preservation. Just take a look at the rear too..! They nearly all exhibit some form of ageing - but this copy is getting close on to 'archive standard' without any at all - a very unusual example indeed.  Edge wear is super light and the spine is 100% intact. All flipbacks are all perfectly secure and the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. Good luck trying to top this example!!
