Description
Bid to own the very 1st Bob Dylan vinyl record from 1962. The record is on the Columbia label. It is the red and black label with the six "eye" logo. On the front cover at the bottom left about 2 inches up from the bottom it reads Columbia Records 1962 (see photo). This cover is in VG+ condition and I believe that this is conservative. It has most, if not all, of it's original gloss. There are no seam tears and a small amount of ring wear. The back has someones initials. The side edge is all intact and all words and letters are visible and easy to read.The top right seam is just starting to tear. I think the inner sleeve is original to 1962. The record is in less finer condition. The label is fine. The record plays through and is flat. The vinyl is thick. There are plenty of hairline scratches though, which make surface noise. I don't mind it that much. The music lets me forget any flaws. So, I give the record a 6 out of 10. Knowing how rare this record is trumps any surface noise. Also, The cover's much better condition makes up for the record's weakness. Just out of interest, I'll say that before his 1st album came out, Dylan's very 1st appearance on any record was a few months before this when he played harmonica on a song for Harry Belafonte. It was the title song from Belafonte's album The Midnight Special. And yes he was credited for his performance in the liner notes. Thanks for looking.
