Description

An original 1970 pressing of Blonde On Blonde on the CBS label. Matrix A3/B2/C4/D1. This pressing dates from 1970 when CBS were in the process of using up the remaining Mono covers from the late 60's. Hence these LPs come housed in an original sleeve with the mono catalogue number 66012 and with no mention of 'stereo'. These original late-60's covers are the last examples to hold the original photo layout in the interior. By 1969 they stopped printing covers with the Claudia Cardinale image in the interior for copy right reasons. Also included are original early 70's CBS inner sleeves. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+/Ex+/Ex+) In beautiful condition and is most certainly one of the lowest mileage copies I've had the pleasure to audition. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks on each side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. If you are looking for the best possible audio this copy may well interest you. Interference is totally absent and I would conclude, judging by those label shots, it has seen minimal use. Intros and inbetweens are absolutely silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I don't recall more than a couple of crackles across four sides of vinyl. Now, that is top-level. If you want to hear a rendition that will better everything else on offer...then this may well be it. I can honestly say I've never heard it sound this good before....
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been cared for down the years. Lovely shiny front and back with minimal creasing. The interior is in great condition too with only the very lightest of handling wear. Edge wear is light and that spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover still retains all of its original rigidity and lies totally flat. A fantastic specimen.
Inners (Ex) No splits. No markings.
