Ok, so not something you can offer up to the market all that often - "a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Dylan enthusiast". These 1966 Mono original cut copies from release are highly sought after. And 'yes' I've had the very occasional copy which looks real nice and plays real nice. But the example we have here is literally a total show-stopper from an audio perspective. If you're looking for that final purchase which you could retire on for that 'Rainy Day' moment....this would be the one to go for. Never seen a copy like it before.. I doubt I'll ever see one again. Just finding any genuine and original mid sixties LP in this condition would be a super find...but this is Dylan....and this is 'Blonde On Blonde'....the "33" mono 1st press.
ALL complete. 1 X Mono gatefold with exposed flips. Both original heavy-duty large "33" textured label vinyl. Both original CBS advertising inners. It's all there....the whole thang. Matrix A1/B1/C1/D1. All discs flat as a pancake.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+) In truly immaculate condition and I have never seen any other LP look like this - particularly for this vintage or collectible title. I've taken photo of the side 4 to try and give you some idea of the level of preservation - but to be honest it's a total waste of time. I cannot really replicate what I'm looking at in an Ebay photo - it just isn't possible. If I hold the side 4 up to the light it has a perfect mirror like appearance. Basically all the original lustre is there - it has the same appearance as a newly purchased LP. This is the same across all four sides. If I concentrate closely across four sides I can perhaps make out one very superficial mark per side. There's nothing that will get even remotely close to the audio stored in these deep mono grooves. Judging by the look of the surfaces and the lack of signs of use on the labels - this LP, unbelievably, just hasn't been played much. It's fully tested - in it's entirety. It plays EXCELLENT+ as a minimum. It plays Ex+ throughout. In plays Ex+ even in the quietest fussiest moments. It doesn't play Ex+ 99% of the time. It plays Ex+ 100%. And I can't even believe what an unusual find that is. Easy to grade in reality. It is perfect. And believe me - I would never ever usually use that as terminology. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Vg+) Not up to the level of the vinyl - which does make me question... was the cover definitely original to the vinyl purchase? Who can say. I cannot be 100% sure. But what I can say is that it is all totally legit for a 1966 1st release mono cover. Nice heavy card stock. Deffo original mono cover. The interior includes all the correct imagery before a certain character took objection. Flipbacks are exposed - this what you should find on an original copy. So, it all looks good to me. The exterior looks good with only light handling. The only thing stand out is a scuff mark to the left of Bob's head and some wear at the foot of the rear. The interior has avoided much of the ageing process. The only thing you need to be aware of is some age marking against that top flipback. I've cleaned it up as best I can. Expect a few foxing marks just below that upper flipback. Overall still very appealing. The spine is in very good order with the usual fold running down the middle. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. PLEASE NOTE:- I have just noticed that there is a print error over on the internal left panel. What looks like deterioration [or damage by the user] is in fact just an issue with the original print job<<<<<
Inners (Ex-/Vg+) Both in excellent condition with lightest ageing. No splits or silly markings. One tiny tear on the inner circle.Also worth noting that these look legit CBS inners for the BoB release. Correct Bob release advertised. Nothing post '66 advertised - which would be correct for the 1st BoB release.
