The Blues Project had formed around Danny Kalb in 1965 in Greenwich Village, New York and with Steve Katz & Andy Kulberg, began gigging attempting to get a record deal. By mid-1965 they had been turned down by Columbia, but had recruited Al Kooper on organ and they signed with MGM who put them on to the Verve label and decided to record a live album. It was recorded over four nights in November 1965 and a week in January 1966 at the Cafe Au Go Go in the Village. Tom Flanders on vocals left after the first sesions and the rest of the band did vocals in January. The album was only released in the US, Japan & Germany and has never been released in the UK.

This is the original German/EU issue with the tan Verve labels, with the earliest A- B- matrices and A-1 C-1 stampers!

The Printed in Germany laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and some light laminate rubbing on the front cover. The rear has some light storage rubbing and the impression of name in biro. The spine is intact and fully readable, the plain company inner is intact, with a name and date in biro & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint sleeve removal hairlines visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings on either side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout, with no pops, clicks or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really clean, loud & clear listen!   The matrix nos. are; FVS-9024-A stamper 1-C, B- stamper 1-A. This is one of the early copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1966 UK stereo issue of this album!


All LP's are sent seperate from the covers in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers, bubble wrap and cardboard stiffeners to protect the albums!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
